The Vita’s secret port looks like this:
So the only way of knowing for sure, is by trying it out.
Keep in mind that this cable has not been tested, so don’t rush to buy it until it has been fully tested.
GodmanGen posted an article last month(April), showing similar images as those above, his friend gave him the images, but instead of using a Panasonic cable, he was using a cable from a Sony camera, here is a small quote:
As he mentioned, when the cable is connected on a PS Vita Wifi edition, not only the Wifi mark/signal percentage on top of the bar disappears but the actual percentage number of the Internet Connection Status also disappears and the internet connection still works. (Edit: after some time he noticed issiues with the DNS Connection, and the console started to freeze)
Here are some images from that article:
Back in October 2014, edukarlo posted this article:

Hackinformer also posted an article, explaining what the port actually does back in March 2014:

cfwprophet and i have been in a little bit of a heated debate, due to his post here debunking the whole story, my problem has nothing to do with the pins not matching, but rather to do with the cable not fitting in the slot, now if he had the cable he could debunk this 100%, but he doesn’t and those with the cable have shown it inserted into the hole, however cfwprophet has posted some images as to why he thinks it does not fit, you can view them below and decide for yourself:
