Hello once again.

I bring you all a TUT, this here is my very first Xbox 360 modification.

I put this together for anyone suffering from the RROD, Xbox over heating etc.

Although this isn't much of a tutorial, I'm going to attempt explaining this.

You'll need...

•Xbox opening tools

•intermediate soldering skills

•A soldering iron + solder w/flux

•wire (I used old USB cable wire)

•a spare parts motherboard

•an xbox 360 fan (you'll still use the original fan, you need a second one for the outside)

•a dremel (for putting holes in the side of your xbox) or... A cutter tool.

•a brain

First your going to take the unit apart. you want the side facing up when laying down to mount the fan, also removing the metal housing on the part your Modifying. (You won't need it anymore)

Second. use the fan to mark the area to stay within for making holes or cutting for air flow into the unit.

Third, well, you can start cutting or drilling out the holes

Fourth. Remove the motherboard from the rest of the unit, you can prep solder the points you will be soldering too.

**you will be soldering to the bottom of the motherboard. The three individual wires will connect the other fan later

Fifth. Solder the wires to the fan. ( I used a separate fan connector from another Xbox Motherboard, soldered them the the bottom of it, dremel'ed a hole to fit the connector, and super glued it. Now the fan can be quickly removed!

Sixth. Assemble the xbox, mount the fan by drilling holes through the fan sides (with a dremel) use whatever screws you feel you can use, I used gold Xbox 360 motherboard screws.

Seventh. Plug in and Test.

If you followed this, Congratulations! You've just made a great xbox mod of your own! Not only does it look cool, it works great, you now have four fans pushing and pulling air through the system.

just curious, the 3 solder points are 12V, Ground, 12V?

I think so, I just wired them the same as the internal fan, so when the internal fan speeds up the one on the outside does too.
