psforce 1
Dear PS haxxers, I joined this community because surpassing oneself in tech field is also one of my biggest passion(as a dev). I'd like to ask some help (I did not find any tuto online), to build my first .pkg... Which tools do I need to be able to compile a .pkg ass for homebrew? What languages can be used for it? Thank you! I'm quite new here and there are LOTS of different tools. (PS4 SDK, etc), so I'd appreciate if anyone could shed my light on the right direction Thank you!

zecoxao 1,371
Besides unity you could give it a go at 5.05 native homebrews like cores for retroarch made by frangarcj and bigboss. Sauces here:https://github.com/psxdev/ps4sdk/tree/firmware505https://github.com/frangarcj/RetroArch/blob/master/Makefile.orbishttps://github.com/frangarcj/libretro-2048 Edit: I'm already warning you that these sources are VERY compile intensive. So get yourself ready for a bunch of errors showing up if you do the wrong steps!
psforce 1
Hey, thanks for the alternatives! Well, it might be a bit weird and ambitious, but my final aim is to be able to create and run code, directly on the PS4, without the help of a computer. I thought about creating web games, thanks to a webserver, directly running on the PS4 for example, and running them in the PS browser. I saw that PS4 is running on FreeBSD, how easy to run binaries on a CFW, like wget / curl / python?
Developer mr_lou 83 Posted November 23, 2019 Developer Share Posted November 23, 2019 Another option is Blu-ray Disc Java. https://www.blu-play.com Doesn't require a jailbroken device to run. If you want to go with web, you shouldn't expect framerates higher than 2-4 fps.
Super Admin Lord_Friky 5 Posted January 26 Super Admin Share Posted January 26 You should definitely give OOSDK a try, it's a fully open source SDK for the PS4, that means you shouldn't have to use any Sony binaries to build your homebrews (you can still do it, but that's up to you, or you can do what Osiris did and tell the user to provide the copyrighted binary by themself) and imo it's more user friendly than PS4SDK Specter has also prepared a set of videos to instruct interested developers on how to use the toolchain, be sure to watch them too! (I know this thread is old, I just wanted to add this info if anyone still visits the thread :b) 1 Tip ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lord Friky - © 2020 Follow me on GitHub and Twitter! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ PSN: Lord_Friky_43 Nintendo Switch: SW-4903-7982-56893DS: Broken atm ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Spanish Facebook scene groups: SceneForeverGO (All kind of consoles) Nintendo Scene Latinoamerica (All Nintendo consoles) PS VITA / SCENE LATINOAMERICA (PS Vita related) PS4 Scene/Comunidad Latinoamérica (PS4 related) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
