[TUTORIAL] Checking MD5 sums

Recommended Posts

zapptheman    171

Hey guys, not sure if this is the right place for this tutorial so please move it if need be.

Anyways, so i have had a few people asking me how to check MD5 so i thought i would make a quick video on how to do it.

Step1: You guys will need to download the dll installer from this website --> http://code.kliu.org/hashcheck/

Step2: Install it then find the file you want to check the md5 of and right click on it then go to properties.

Step3: Then go to checksums tab and wait for it to generate the codes.

Step4: After generation is complete you can copy the md5 and paste it into properties box to compare. if one of the codes becomes hilighted then they match, if not you have a different file to the one you desired to download.

That's it :)

haha nice, that works too but wouldn't you find it easier having the option to paste in your md5 to let the computer check it? rather then having to manually check it XD

Always a good thing to check it :)

After couple months...finally another (old) working pc :P

I always found Hashtab -- Latest a handy tool for checking those nr's...

After installing u get another option in the rightclick -- properties menu.

Thx for the guide.
