Question

PS4 Media player

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/06/15/media-player-coming-to-ps4/

Maybe it's only for US residents, but if someone from USA could check if it's already available.

I can confirm that it's automatically displayed just like Spotify. All you have to do is download.

Thanks, i will try it later, at home.

i was almost giving up with movies watching on PS4, PS Vue is expensive and only for some US cities, PS video has few content in Brazil.

good question.

I think Cinavia is mandatory since 2012, so almost certainly Media Player will recognize the sound "watermark".

on the other hand, there are some softwares that claim to have beaten the protection.

i'm planning to record something tonight with my new LG Time Machine, will see what happens.

The application does not have Cinavia, but the libraries the PS4 uses do.

Hmm, IP9100 suggests international release, like: http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps4/Template:Media_Services:SHAREfactory

But it doesn't show up in the store when searching: http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps4/Template:Media_Services:Media_Player

SCEA / STORE-MSF77008 links:

- Argentina

- Brasil

- Canada

- Chile

- Colombia

- Mexico

- Peru

- USA

Anyone have other store links?

thanks, everyone, working fine now.

At night when i've turned my PS4 on, finally link was there in XMB. I thint it takes some time to roll over it to all PS4 around the world

I've used with my external HD, running FAT32, get to watch gravity with no issues, i'm not sure this file has cinavia in it.

PS4 still denies to use my NTFS, though.

It looks as PS4 app does not support subtitles like .srt, but closed captions embedded worked fine.

Is it possible to use a notebook as a file server? I will search for it later.

just a small step untill DLNA, don't ypu think?

I'm not a big fan of this media player. It looks rushed, I don't think we will ever be able to import music and movies to the ps4.
