Why are vita memory cards so expensive?

previous year I bought my 8 GB Vita Memorycards for 4 euro, thus got 8 of them for 32 euro...

can't hardly buy it now for that price in microSD format :D

yes, i'm pretty sure no one has brand loyalty to proprietary garbage cards.

o.O mate and even if sony would use sd cards or micro sd they would be also expenisve, cause sony will use custom crypto for that chip so they can force you to use their mem card and not a standard one.

The crypto doesnt necessarily mean they have to use special cards. Just look at the HDD's in PS3/4, completely normal HDDs with sonys own encryption.

Sony is just afraid of the possibibility of piracy if they use a widely used memory format

Thats hardly the reason. Using standard HDD's in the PS3 have not and will not lead to piracy. This is just a way for sony to milk more money out of the consumers, nothing more.

WORD that was what i meant. And even if they would use cheaper memory, the price wouldn't much go down in case of this is all just milking shit.
