  1. "Ukko's Journey" released; the very first "Blu-Play" homebrew game for PS3, PS4 and XB1! Intro "Ukko's Journey" was originally developed as a cellphone game back in 2008-2009 by LuBlu Entertainment. Now here in 2017 the same team has ported the game to Blu-Play, proof-of-concept demonstration to show an example of a what you can do with Blu-Play. Blu-Play games are "small-scale homebrew games coded with Blu-ray Disc Java (BD-J), and which therefore runs on any game-console that comes with a built-in Blu-ray player", which at present time includes PS3, PS4 and XB1. In other words, you don't need a special version of a Blu-Play title in order to run it on your console. One disc runs on all. More about Blu-Play here. Demonstrated Blu-Play elements - Performance: The game plays with 50+ fps - Audio: Plays ingame music + sound-effects - Persistent storage: Remembers your settings between disc ejects - Controls: 11 buttons on the gamepad useable - Internet: Uploads/downloads highscores to/from UkkosJourney.com - Network: Sends the cellphone version of the game to your Wi-Fi connected JavaME enabled phone via your local network Download Ukko's Journey is 100% free. Download UkkosJourney-BluPlay.ISO here [83 mb] How can I get to play this? For a stock PS3 / PS4 you need to burn the ISO onto a BD-R or BD-RE disc, which means you need a Blu-ray burner. Luckily Blu-ray burners has become very affordable now, and a BD-R disc only costs about half a euro. If you buy a BD-RE, it can be re-used several thousand times due to the small size of Blu-Play games. For a jailbroken PS3 you can run the ISO from harddisk by mounting the ISO with webMAN or multiMAN from the BDISO folder. For Xbox One you can burn the ISO onto a DVD, which means you need a DVD burner. (If you have a Blu-ray burner, BD-R and BD-RE naturally works too). You can also play the ISO from harddisk on your PC if you have a software media-player that supports BD-J. More about this in FAQ. Setup If you wish to use the online highscore-system in the game, make sure your console's Blu-ray settings allows for the disc to go online. On the PS3 this setting is in Video Settings -> "BD - Internet connection" On the XB1 it's in Blu-ray settings -> "Enable BD Live to improve Blu-ray playback" Before starting a game, you may also want to redefine controls in the game settings, and enter your nickname for the highscores. Preview video FAQ Q: Which platforms will this run on? A: You should always expect Blu-Play games to only run on the gaming consoles that comes with a built-in Blu-ray player. These are the consoles Blu-Play is all about. However, Blu-Play games should theoretically also run on any other Blu-ray player. (Just don't expect any stunning framerates everyhere). Some examples: - Windows: Get your hands on a software media player that supports BD-J, like e.g. PowerDVD from Cyberlink. Play ISO from harddisk. Tested and works fine with a good frame (depending on your CPU of course). - Mac: Same deal. Find a software media player that supports BD-J. There's "MacGo Blu-ray Player", but I haven't tested that one. - Linux: VLC is getting BD-J support implemented these days. You may be able to run Ukko's Journey on one of the nightly builds, Just don't expect all features of the game to run - if it runs at all. (Keep in mind there's no official release of "VLC with BD-J support" yet). - Samsung Blu-ray players: It seems that Samsung players more frequently accepts Blu-ray content on a DVD than other brands, so you may be able to run Blu-Play games from a DVD on these players. - Other Blu-ray players: Burn the ISO onto a BD-R or BD-RE. - Other options: Dune HD Smart D1 / Popcorn Hour C200 / Popcorn Hour C300 lets you play the ISO from harddisk. Q: The graphics in the game looks very pixelated. Does this represent a Blu-Play limitation? A: Not at all. "Ukko's Journey" was merely ported from a platform with a resolution of only 240x320 pixels. We made HD versions of the fonts and the backgrounds and the foregrounds, but we had to limit the amount of time spent on this project, due to a combination of having a ton of other things on our ToDo list, while not knowing if anyone will take any interest in this Blu-Play idea at all. So we decided to not spend additional time improving the level-graphics yet. Q: When I try to upload/download highscores, it just says "No data found"! A: You have probably accidentally entered a highscore ID in Settings. Go back and type "0" for ID. (Never mind the Password field). The highscore settings allows a group of people to compete with each other on their own personal (hidden) highscore list, but you need a highscore-list ID and a password (from me) to be able to use that feature. Q: Under "Send to phone" it says "JavaME enabled phones only". What's that? A: JavaME enabled phones was what everyone was using before the arrival of Android phones and iPhones. Almost all phones ran JavaME back then, because it was either embedded into the firmware, or in the OS. If a stock phone couldn't run JavaME, you could always find an app that would let you run it. again regardless of what OS you were using. Nowadays this is still true for Android. You can simply install phoneME. However, since the MIDlets on this disc were all created for small resolutions, they aren't very useful on the big Android displays. Q: Do I have to burn the ISO onto a BD-R, or can I use a DVD? A: You can burn a Blu-ray ISO file onto a DVD, but sadly it won't play everywhere. Xbox One owners are in luck here. PlayStation owners are not. Testing standard Blu-ray players reveals that about 30%-40% of the players accepts Blu-ray content on a DVD, mostly Samsung players. Q: What exactly is Blu-Play? A: The Blu-Play label is an attempt of fixing a few widely accepted misconceptions about Blu-ray Disc Java (BD-J), by giving "BD-J homebrew games" a new and "fresh" label. One that sounds a lot better, emphasises that focus is on the gaming-consoles, is much more easily found when searching online, and isn't associated with all the false rumours about the limitations of BD-J. By demonstrating a lot of the functionality here that many people has claimed to be impossible, I'm hoping to breathe new life into BD-J development for the game-consoles. Read more about Blu-Play here. Q: I wanna buy a disc with this! A: There's a BUY link at blu-play.com. Note: I will not be making any money on this. The price on the disc is the fee EditHouse is charging.
  2. Similar to the last tutorial posted.... This tutorial will teach you how to fix one of the most common issues with the BD drive on the PS4 not injecting or ejecting discs... As usual, there is a video below for those who would like to watch and listen, and a write up underneath for those who cannot watch or simply do not want to. So this is for you people who don't know how to fix one of the most common issues when the ps4 will not inject/eject discs. so lets start Firstly you need to get to the inside of the system. so turn PS4 upside down, and remove the 3 security screws at the back of the system, holding the bottom cover plate on. (for fat ps4) Once removed, it should be easy to remove the cover by lifting back up first and then pull it off the front After this there are many screws on the boarder of the chassy, remove all security screws you see on the chassy, then there are 2 philips head screws at the back in the power supple, remove them too. Gently pull out power supply by lifting the right oriented side if you have the back of the ps4 facing you, then lift it gently up while left side may come loose a bit, then put the right side down and lift the left until it comes off prongs, be careful not to break the cable coming out of the power suply, you can easily just remove this during the replacement of the drive Next you want to make sure there are no more screws holding the bluray drive in place, there is 1 normal philips head screw at the top which holds it in place, (top being front) just remove that one and then remove the ribbon cable and power cable which are connecting to the drive from the mainboard. the drive should now come out with a bit of encouragement. Now turn the drive upside down so you can see the mecchanism which injhects and ejects the discs... what you have to do is remove the 3 screws holding it onto the bottom of the drive, and then there is a tab in place where there is no screw present where you need to gently lift the back plate off and pull it out of there... Inside the drive you will see 2 blue rollers next to there the disc goes in, there should be a white piece in the middle of them joining together. If there is not then you will have to look around the drive as it has most likely fallen out. Once found you must lodge it back in between the two rollers (be patient, this may take some time on first try) Once done just reverse the disassembly process and give it a try. WARNING! This may not fix all issues especially if your daughterboard is damaged. if you would like any help to see if it might help please post image of your daughterboard and what is going wrong with the ps4 in comments down bellow and i will make a judgement on it and tell you what i think you should do. i am also not responsible if you purchase a replacement drive and it does not work for whatever reason. i will help you diagnose the issue but if you do not take necessary precautions to make sure you need a new drive it is your fault. also be careful of sellers on ebay, some might not be very good. Good luck guys
  3. Hi Guys. Back again with another tutorial. YES, you will need to purchase a new Bluray drive for this tutorial If you guys have every had any issues with the Bluray drive and you don't know what to do anymore, you may have tried various different things, or you just don't trust yourself with any other methods. This is about the simplest method you can find to fix most issues that can arrise around the Bluray drive. There is a video below which shows you how to change the BD drive, otherwise there's a bit of a written tut under the video. Let me know if you need anymore help. Good luck Ok so if you can't listen or watch the video for whatever reason, here is the write-up. Firstly you need to get to the inside of the system. so turn PS4 upside down, and remove the 3 security screws at the back of the system, holding the bottom cover plate on. (for fat ps4) once removed, it should be easy to remove the cover by lifting back up first and then pull it off the front After this there are many screws on the boarder of the chassy, remove all security screws you see on the chassy, then there are 2 philips head screws at the back in the power supple, remove them too. gently pull out power supply by lifting the right oriented side if you have the back of the ps4 facing you, then lift it gently up while left side may come loose a bit, then put the right side down and lift the left until it comes off prongs, be careful not to break the cabel coming out of the power suply, you can easily just remove this during the replacement of the drive next you want to make sure there are no more screws holding the bluray drive in place, there is 1 normal philips head screw at the top which holds it in place, (top being front) just remove that one and then remove the ribbon cable and power cable which are connecting to the drive from the mainboard. the drive should now come out with a bit of encouragement. simply drop your new drive in and remove the daughter board from your old ps4 and replace the one on the new drive if it came with one, otherwise hook it up to the new drive, there are a few screws holding it in place. once the old daughter board it hooked up to the old drive, hook it back up to the mainboard and reverse the teardown process ensuring you keep the new drive and mainboard int the system. turn on the ps4 and you should be golden.
  4. So over the last few days, hints have been dropped all over the scene. There's a video below for those of you who prefer to listen, otherwise if you would like to read then just check under the video and there's a whole write up. Recent updates are showing that qwertyuiop and cturt may have something more than we have expected. cturt has started off by posting tweets showing himself updating to ofw 4.06 from his beloved 1.76 This also goes along with other tweets by qwertyuiop hinting at a 0day exploit kernalside as seen bellow At this point in time we can only assume they are sitting on top of something huge but until the exploit is finished and publicly released, might take some time.. I am personally excited to see where they are going to go with this and what could come of it. What we know: The webkit exploit will currently grant us access up to firmware 4.07 while the kernal exploit is currently classified as 0day which means that the exploit is unknown to sony and therefore not patched in latest released firmware. The only issue with the kernal exploit is that there is no current public releases of a webkit exploit for the latest firmware which is required to utilize the kernal exploit. The good news about this is that webkit exploits are usually much easier to come across than kernal exploits and if a newer webkit exploit is discovered this could essentially target latest firmware systems and all systems will be exploitable until $ony engineers patch them. Let us know in the comments down below what you're most looking forward to when the ps4 is publicly hacked Sources: Twitter - CTurt Twitter - qwertyuiop Wololo
  5. Demonstrating Java homebrew on the PS3. Ukko's Journey was originally a cellphone game developed by LuBlu Entertainment in 2008-2009. (See www.ukkosjourney.com). In 2017 LuBlu Entertainment is porting the game to BD-J purely as a proof-of-concept project, demonstrating that homebrew for the PS3 + PS4 + Xbox One is possible with Java. Once this project is complete, the game should run on all 3 consoles - from the same disc! Here is a preview video showing the game running on a PS3.

  8. Ok guys the new psproxy allows 3.50 ps4s to bypass the 3.55 thanks to Red-eyeX32, within these files theres a ps4-updatelist.xml file that can be open with notepad and we will see the following code <?xml version="1.0" ?> <update_data_list> <region id="us"> <force_update> <system level0_system_version="03.508.000" level1_system_version="03.508.000"/> </force_update> <system_pup label="3.50" sdk_version="03.508.001" version="03.508.000"> <update_data update_type="full"> <image size="299649024">http://dus01.ps4.update.playstation.net/update/ps4/image/2016_0405/sys_0aa1a7e346aaba18483a106f1a887a6f/PS4UPDATE.PUP?dest=us</image> </update_data> </system_pup> <recovery_pup type="default"> <system_pup label="3.50" sdk_version="03.508.001" version="03.508.000"/> <image size="878051840">http://dus01.ps4.update.playstation.net/update/ps4/image/2016_0405/rec_1c41826537584a850e0b1cdad1dede36/PS4UPDATE.PUP?dest=us</image> </recovery_pup> </region> </update_data_list> The proxy only works with 3.50 because of this xml code thats being spoofed but can be extended to more then 1 update has long as you have direct image links to those updates or create a localserver and have all the ps4 updates. showed here http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps4/Ps4-updatelist.xml The main reason why 1.76 wont work is because the sony direct download link file was removed by sony, because its too old so eventually this 3.50 image size will also fail eventually. <image size="299649024">http://dus01.ps4.update.playstation.net/update/ps4/image/2016_0405/sys_0aa1a7e346aaba18483a106f1a887a6f/PS4UPDATE.PUP?dest=us</image> So i used the 1.76 mega link from http://www.psdevwiki.com/ps4/1.760.000 made the download link to a direct link using http://www.autogeneratelink.com/# and created my own direct links so the new 1.76 xml file will look like this <?xml version="1.0" ?> <update_data_list> <region id="us"> <force_update> <system level0_system_version="01.760.000" level1_system_version="01.760.000"/> </force_update> <system_pup label="1.76" sdk_version="01.760.000" version="01.760.000"> <update_data update_type="full"> <image size="193701376">http://fr-02.ashx.autogeneratelink.com/?file=mega_90660398c4</image> </update_data> </system_pup> <recovery_pup type="default"> <system_pup label="1.76" sdk_version="01.760.000" version="01.760.000"/> <image size="771464192">http://fr-02.ashx.autogeneratelink.com/?file=mega_9b1b030a77</image> </recovery_pup> </region> </update_data_list> Question is does it work? I didnt test this 1.76 xml spoof cause i dont have one but i did modify my own 3.50 spoof using a different direct link other than the sony dus01.ps4.update.playstation.net/update/ps4 and it works nicely Another good question is can we spoof the ps4 into thinking it needs a update using this nice little program direct linking to a mega upload customized ps4 pup CFW of course probably getting a little ahead of myself but you know what i mean. Thx Red-eyeX32 for this nice xml spoof Test at your own risk!

  14. Hi guys, this tutorial is for those of you who have been presented with the above error code or any error code stating that the system cannot find the correct storage media and cannot start. If you have this error and cannot access the recovery menu to rebuild the data base, then this means that your hard drive is most likely dead. in order to test this you must have a dock, remove the drive from the ps4 and place it into a dock on your pc and then open a hard drive utility tool such as easeus partition master. then search for your ps4 drive in there, if it shows up then your drive is most likely corrupted and still usable, you will have to reformat this drive with your computer to any format just to clean it up and then reinstall it to the ps4 and follow on screen prompts, you can follow my video from after i replace the drive for help with this section. OTHERWISE if your drive does not show up at all in a hard drive utility tool then it is probably dead :/ so in this tutorial i will show you how to use a newly obtained drive to replace it for the system and bring her back to life The video can be found below and a written tutorial beneath that. Written TUT First of all we will need a hard drive to replace the original. You can obtain one from local computer stores usually or Ebay, in my opinion these are usually expensive and unnecessary, so i have purchase a Seagate slim backup plus hard drive for a lower price and torn it apart so we could use the drive inside the case. Do not fear this is easier than you would think just watch my video showing you how to do this. these drives are usually more accessible for people who are not near any computer stores or who do not wish to purchase products online. Be careful if purchasing external drives for use as some do not have sata connectors within and cannot be used for the Playstation, make sure to look at taredowns of the drive before purchase and make sure they are the right sizes to fit in the PS4. i believe they cannot be any thicker then 9mm Refer to bottom of post for drives which will work First make sure the PS4 has no cables plugged into it remaining. then you are going to want to slide the glossy cover away from the PS4 until it pops and you can remove it. After you have taken this off you will need to unscrew the Playstation screw with the button symbols on it so we can access the Hard Drive bay. When you have unscrewed that screw the Hard Drive should be able to slide out and you will then have to unscrew it from the Cradle Remove it when all screws are removed and place new Hard Drive in Cradle and use removed screws to fasten it. Slide Cradle back into bay and screw Playstation screw back in the same spot. Make sure everything is correct and moves into place then put glossy cover back on PS4 and you are done with replacing. Boot PS4 back up and it will ask for a firmware file of the most recent firmware it had installed or above, you will be required to locate one for installation. The latest OFW can be found HERE Once you have this Firmware you must place it on to a FAT formatted usb like so. On the root of USB you must make a Folder called PS4 --> UPDATE --> PS4UPDAT.PUP Place this USB in to PS4 when it asks for the firmware and then follow onscreen prompts to install it. This will now format the new Hard Drive and install the firmware, this will take a while. Once this is complete it will ask to be set up like a new system so you may set it up as you would normally do. Then it will boot to home screen with no data. And that is it your system is back to life and you can continue using it after reinstalling all your apps and games and what not which shouldn't be too hard if you have ps plus. hope this helped you guys who thought your systems were dead and saved some money that you would spend sending it to $ony, also if you guys tried this and bought external drives other than the ones i have listed would you please post the names of the drives you used and a picture into the comments so i could add them to the list thanks guys have a good one. External drives that have Sata connectors within: - Seagate slim backup plus - Seagate GoFlex
  15. Hi guys, Merry Christmas to all and wishing you all the best Let's get down to business. In this tutorial I will show you how to backup your ps4's data to a HDD and replace the existing ps4 HDD with a new one/bigger one. Video Tutorial. Written can be found below. Written TUT First of all you will want to make sure you have the replacement drive and an external drive with capacity equivalent to that within your PS4 or greater than. So if you have a 500GB ps4 you will need an external HDD that is => 500GB. Next step is to make sure that the external drive is formatted to FAT or exFAT so the ps4 can read it. Once formatted plug it in to PS4 via USB port. Then from PS4 home screen navigate to --> settings --> system --> backup and restore --> backup once you are here the system will allow you to choose what you want to backup and will calculate the space required on the external HDD. Next step is to commence backup process (this will take a while if you backed up applications so maybe find something to do for 3 hours) Once this step is complete you can unplug the PS4 from the power and we can begin to replace the Hard Drive First make sure the PS4 has no cables plugged into it remaining. then you are going to want to slide the glossy cover away from the PS4 until it pops and you can remove it. This will now format the new Hard Drive and install the firmware so it will also take a while. Once this is complete it will ask to be set up like a new system so you may set it up as you would normally do. Then it will boot to home screen with no data (THIS IS FINE, WE WILL BE RESTORING MOMENTARILY) and you are done with the installation stage Finally the restoration stage, once booted successfully to home screen you must navigate to --> settings --> system --> backup and restore --> restore then follow on screen prompts to to restore all backed up data. (This will take probably another 3 hours if you backed up applications) At last, the system should look exactly how it was before you began these procedures and you should have some more free space on your PS4 system. Hope this tutorial helped you guys. make sure to leave a like if it did and stay tuned for more peace out

  22. I'm no expert, but...

Okay so say for instance what happens if someone who knows what they are doing gets their hands on a dev-kit PS4. I heard (i actually saw in a picture) that if you have one you can use a CORE_DUMP feature.also with people who know how to solder now and with new trick for flashing the nor i think you could maybe do SOMETHING with the NOR... MAYBE? or just use the dev-kit to advantage
  23. Do you guys think the PS4 MP3 Player can be Exploited (Or even POC'D) in some way?? with just a regular USB?? or perhaps a dongle like cobra or something like that? Post your thoughts below and tell me what you think.

  25. PS4 stuck within FSM

Soo after we've seen some nice trie's to fake us with a PS4 stuck in FSM which our own dev's of the Forum could debunk as a fake pic we have this time something reall. An Video. Showing an PS4 stuck within FSM. Or the so called Factory Service Mode. While it is nothing special that you can see in the video it is still cool to see that it's reall and to see it for the first time in an video. Shout's go out to the user eXtreme which shared the video with me and gaved me on that way the chance to also show you, the world first and premiere, only here on playstationhax.xyz a PS4 stuck within FactoryService Mode. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZFtunGSQlM
