    [MOD] Install 3.5" internal HDD

    Mistawes
    By Mistawes,
I plugged this together the other night, it's been working a treat since! It's fairly simple, but thought I'd post this for clarity. The main thing is ensuring you get a decent 12v supply, taking it straight from the PSU worked pretty good for me. Steps: Remove the old HDD, remove the BR drive (I've a 2.5k, otherwise I'd keep just the logic board in there, insulated). Find a 12v point on your board (Google "ps3 12v" or "12v jsd" etc depending on your motherboard), snip the yellow wire on the SATA extender, connect the side that's going to plug into the new 3.5" HDD and solder/crimp it (so that it now receives 12v) and the other side can be removed/insulated. Then plug it into the HDD and onto the original HDD socket (I hot glued mine, so it won't fall out). I've drawn up a quick diagram, posted below. I'll take a picture of how mine looks under the cover and update this post when I get a chance. The red line basically shows the link from 12v output on mobo, to 12v input on HDD. The wire should ideally be 20 awg or thicker. Finding your 12v point, should look similar to this (JSD): More pics of my installation (I've only just put it back together after a downgrade and this mod, so didn't fully tear it down). Planning to "push the envelope" and swap it for rubber when I've got more time, flying out tomorrow! Also, if keeping your logic board, I covered mine in cardboard (different mod) and sealed it, to prevent a short. I hope this helps! 1x Slim 4k OFW | 4x Slim CFW | 2x PHAT CFW | 2x CECHC CEX2DEX 1x X-Bone | 1x Jasper 256 SMC+Halo case | 2x Jasper 16 RGH | 1x XD mod Slim RGH Matte+Chrome+ROL RGLoader/Freeboot/Retail | 1x Slim RGH+ROL

    [GUIDE] PSP HEN's, LCFW's & CFW's for ALL models

    gusha
    By gusha,
Although the Playstation Portable (PSP) is a fairly dated console and has in some ways been superseded by the Playstation Vita (PSV) it does still hold some interest with gamers. To that end I decided to create a thread that would inform new users or those that find their system software (Official Firmware [OFW] or Custom FirmWare [CFW)/Lite Custom Firmware [LCFW]) out dated. MODELS: PSP100x/Fat/Phat The first PSP model released. Susceptible to the Pandora battery and Magic Memory Stick (flashes a Custom Initial Program Loader [cIPL] for full CFW). Contained the following motherboards: TA079v1-3; TA081; TA082 and TA086. PSP200x/Slim/Slim and Lite The first update to the PSP with increased RAM (32 to 64mb). Older versions are susceptible to the Pandora battery and Magic Memory Stick but this was blocked in the last model released. Contained the following motherboards: TA085v1+2; TA088v1+2 (These four react to a Pandora battery and Magic Memory Stick); TA088v3 (Dubbed the "Unhackable" motherboard and reacts to a Pandora battery but NOT the Magic Memory Stick with cIPL) and the very rare TA090v1 (a Sony replacement board that CAN flash full CFW.) PSP300x/Brite The second update to the PSP sporting an upgraded LCD and built in microphone. This model is completely unsusceptible to the Pandora Battery and Magic Memory Stick. Contained the following motherboards: TA090v2 and TA093 N100x/PSPGO/GO The third and most drastic update to the PSP introducing the 'Slide' action, on-board memory and a fixed/non-removable battery (therefore negating any Pandora battery use). Contained the following motherboards: TA091 and TA094 E100x/PSPStreet/Street The final instance of the PSP and is more of a downgrade than an update. It 'sports': no Wi-Fi, mono speaker and a fixed/non-removable battery. Contains the following motherboard: TA096 * The x at the end of each model name/number replaces a country code which does not affect the model in any way at all. The good thing about the PSP is that ALL models can have CFW/LCFW installed on them. The only difference between the CHA (Completely HAckable) psp's and PHA (Partially HAckable) psp's is the method used to install the CFW or LCFW. CHA PSP's - PSP100x (All) & PSP200x (TA085v1-2, TA088v1-2 & TA090v1) PHA PSP's - PSP200x (TA088v3); PSP300x (All); PSPGO (All) & Street (All) CHA psp's can install CFW or LCFW using either a Pandora Battery and Magic Memory Stick or via signed installers.PHA psp's can install LCFW (Only) via signed installers. However, it must be understood that LCFW is not permanently flashed to the console and in all but one instance must be restarted after the system is rebooted. CFW however can be flashed permanently to a CHA psp and requires no restarting. Resident Evil Coming To The PS4

    GregoryRasputin
    By GregoryRasputin,
No, i didn't leave a number out and no i didn't mean Resident Evil 7 is coming to the PS4, im talking about the original Resident Evil game, that was released on the PS1 in 1996, then saw a remake released on the GameCube in 2002. This 18 year old game is getting another remake, for this generation of game players, who weren't even born when the game first came out. The game will be released on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC in 2015, unfortunately the Wii U wasn't mentioned which is slightly disappointing, but if i'm looking at this correctly, perhaps we will be seeing other classic Resident Evil games being remade, here is the announcement video: Source Thanks Michael O'Neil for making me aware of this Japan is getting the remake this November, here is the PS3 case cover: View more images here. Thanks NeoSabin for that link.
